Community Guidelines

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Apex Society is built by car enthusiasts, for car enthusiasts. These guidelines exist so everyone — from daily drivers to concours collectors — can enjoy the community. Violating them can result in content removal, warnings, or account suspension at our discretion.

🚗

Keep it car-related

Apex Society is a community for automotive passion. Posts, listings, and discussions should be relevant to cars, builds, cruises, or automotive culture. Off-topic spam clutters the feed for everyone.

✅

Be honest

Represent yourself and your listings truthfully. Don't exaggerate build specs, hide known mechanical faults in listings, or misrepresent mileage or condition. Deceptive listings may be removed and your account flagged.

Don't impersonate real people, other members, businesses, or public figures.

🤝

Respect other members

Criticism of cars is fair game. Attacks on people are not. We don't tolerate:

  • Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse
  • Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Deliberate misgendering or deadnaming
  • Doxxing or sharing private information without consent

Debate builds, argue about power wars, question the existence of CVTs — just keep it about the cars.

🛣️

Responsible driving only

We celebrate car culture, not dangerous behaviour. You must not:

  • Organise, promote, or glorify street racing on public roads
  • Encourage hooning, burnouts, or stunt driving in unsafe environments
  • Post content that shows or encourages illegal speeds on public roads
  • Glorify driving under the influence

Track days, sanctioned events, private property — all welcome. Public endangerment is not.

📸

Content standards

All images, videos, and text must comply with Australian law. The following are prohibited:

  • Nudity or sexually explicit content
  • Graphic violence or gore
  • Content that promotes self-harm
  • Content that exploits or endangers minors (zero tolerance — reported immediately to authorities)
  • Spam, clickbait, or repetitive promotional content

Watermarks and branding on your own content are fine. Reposting others' photos without credit is not.

🤖

Authentic content only — no AI-generated posts

Apex Society is built on real cars, real builds, and real moments. AI-generated images, AI-rendered vehicles, synthetic garage photos, and fabricated build content are not allowed.

This includes:

  • Fully AI-generated car photos or renders presented as real builds
  • AI-modified images that misrepresent a vehicle's appearance, specifications, or condition
  • Fake event or cruise photos generated by AI

Light AI-assisted editing is acceptable (colour correction, background cleanup, sky replacement on real photos). The car and the build must be real.

Violations — including using AI renders in Marketplace listings to misrepresent a vehicle — will result in content removal and may result in account suspension.

🛒

Marketplace integrity

The Marketplace only works if listings are honest. Rules:

  • Stolen, cloned, or unlawfully obtained vehicles or parts must not be listed
  • Sellers must respond to genuine enquiries in good faith
  • Prices must be in AUD and accurately stated (no bait-and-switch)
  • Counterfeits or replicas must be explicitly identified as such
  • No weapons, illegal modifications, or items prohibited under Australian law

We encourage in-person transactions in a safe public location. Always check a vehicle's PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) before purchase.

🏢

Business accounts

Business profiles are for real, operating automotive businesses. You must not:

  • Create fake reviews or artificially inflate ratings
  • Use multiple accounts to vote on your own content
  • Run promotions that are illegal under Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
  • Post misleading fuel prices that don't reflect your actual pump prices

Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed.

🔒

Privacy & consent

Before tagging someone in a post or photo, consider whether they'd be comfortable with it. Don't share others' personal details (phone numbers, addresses, workplaces) without their explicit consent. Cruise location data is shared only with confirmed attendees — don't screenshot or redistribute it externally.

⚠️

Consequences

Violations are handled on a spectrum based on severity and pattern:

  1. Content removal — isolated or minor breach
  2. Warning — pattern of behaviour or moderate breach
  3. Temporary suspension — serious or repeated breaches
  4. Permanent ban — severe violations (CSAM, credible threats, coordinated abuse)

We reserve the right to act immediately without warning for severe violations. You may appeal moderation decisions by contacting hello@apex-societyapp.com within 30 days.

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. If you see content that violates them, use the report button on any post, listing, or profile.
